Transcript

In this module we're going to dive deep into the Pyramid Principle. Now this is a super useful tool for writing, creating presentations, or just using it to sort through information and structure your thinking and start to develop a story of what the information is telling you. The Pyramid Principle is really three layers. The bottom level there's going to be your information. We're going to go through step one which is about how do you sort, group, synthesize that, using the Mesee Principle from earlier, and bring that to higher level insights. Then from those insights, making sure at that level their Mesee again, how do you structure them in order such that they lead to a clear and distinct recommendation. This is your main takeaway, and then part two of the Pyramid Principle is really starting with that takeaway, the high level insight, and saying here's what matters, here's what you need to do, and then structuring your writing or your presentation, which we'll cover in the next modules, in terms of what does that actually mean, what's the data analysis behind that, what are the takeaways, what are the insights, what is the key information you need to know for why this takeaway or recommendation matters.
